On Life and Force End to it - Against Karma /Spirituality

“Some people commit suicide; they seem to think that there is suffering simply because there is the human life, and that by cutting off the life there will be nothing… But, according to the Buddhist viewpoint, that’s not the case; your consciousness will continue. Even if you take your own life, this life; you will have to take another body that again will be the basis of suffering. If you really want to get rid of all your suffering, all the difficulties you experience in your life, you have to get rid of the fundamental cause (greed, hatred and delusion) that gives rise to the aggregates that are the basis of all suffering. Killing yourself isn’t going to solve your problems.”
-His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama (Sic)

Somehow same holds in Shrimad Bhagavad Chapter 2 Verse 27:
जातस्य हि ध्रुवो मृत्युर्ध्रुवं जन्म मृतस्य च |
तस्मादपरिहार्येऽर्थे न त्वं शोचितुमर्हसि || 27||

Death is certain for one who has been born, and rebirth is inevitable for one who has died. Therefore, you should not lament over the inevitable.
As well Reincarnation is mentioned in Chapter 2 Verse 22:

वासांसि जीर्णानि यथा विहाय
नवानि गृह्णाति नरोऽपराणि |
तथा शरीराणि विहाय जीर्णा
न्यन्यानि संयाति नवानि देही || 22||

As a person sheds worn-out garments and wears new ones, likewise, at the time of death, the soul casts off its worn-out body and enters a new one.

This comes at a time when amid the pandemic, mixed with depression, people end up taking life.
Thus we see by committing suicide we can escape the immediate pains but we end up being unjustified to the people around us those who loves us, attached to us and those whom we actually care for. We shun away from our duty. We shall harness the will and power to live when things don't go our way rather than contemplating suicide, and give us a Goal, a Motivation, a Reason to survive rather.

RIP Sushant Singh Rajput, Indian actor who died today 14-06-2020 by untimely ending his own life. 🙏🙏

The Sacred abode of the Nine Planets

The Navagraha temple (Temple of the Nine Planets). Located at Guwahati, Assam (India)
One of many temple of ancient Assam that stood the tests of time.
Atop the Navagraha Hills.

Sad part is due to over population the hills are encroached, houses built and cut down in name of development and over time owing to this the city has contributed to the Global warming.

It is time we the citizens, the people in powers realize the truth and do something to safeguard the flora and fauna of the city of the Hills.

Jackie Shroff - Interview and Learning from Life - Video

Indian Actor, Jakie Shoroff .. talks about his experience of life, his meaning of life and theres much to take away from him if we can agree to that. And even if not agreed to him, his style of talking was altogether different fan-following. I admit, in my childhood and even today am a big fan of his style.
But that stands this clip apart is his view on life which was not easy for him and many can sure relate to that.
As for the actual person posting it in facebook, kindly ignore him if you can never agree to him even I do not like his presentations.
Still good things need to be shared.

How to dispose Damage, torn idols of God? (Khandit pratima)

As per modern and concerned learned Hindu Brahmin as well as some Christian Priests, Below are relevant options.
Many Gurujis of ISKON and other Math recommend disposing them in to flowing waterbody/ streams or rivers.
But that was relevant to earlier days when idols were mostly clay or wooden which would decompose properly into water, but now a days different materials are used which takes 500 or more years to decompose like plastics, fibers and other materials, and think about even 5% of the world;s population dumping them into flowing water and the result on our environment! I wouldn't dare.

So below are more scientifically as well logical justification.

  • Dos' - Dig it into soil/ garden or burn it down in a metal bowl and spread the ashes under plants, garden soil.
(Preferably avoid plastic Gods even as plastic is the enemy of this Environment and worst invention to affect Mankind as I believe,)
  • Dont's - Dispose in water, dispose under tree/ peepal tree.

Other Sources of Mantras and Ceremonial Procedures -

Basant Panchami Puja Vidhi Mantra - Above site from IndiaTimes is in Hindi but excellent manual for the ceremonial procedures. It lays out the procedure for not only the mantras but even how to get the Puja done, that ceremonial processes.
While browsing the internet for Saraswati I cam across this site - New Age Purohit Darpan and a PDF by them. Sites of this kind are desperately needed, as Sanskrit has failed to become our compulsory language as well Puja vidhis are no more taught in school.
Going through this site may take time and it is an indepth process for those who have queries about the processing of the Puja. Any Puja I mean!
Here is the direct Link to the PDF and this is the link to the site - http://www.agiivideo.com

Another Site - Rudraksha-Ratna.Com - great and recommended to know the Mantras in English with transliteration as well meaning translated in English for easy reference. But this site not directly guides about the Puja Vidhi (Ceremonial Manual).

Here we can find the following mantras, but advisable to go through the effect of the each mantras before chanting (these are never harmful, but some time may not be relevent for person from all wakes of life)-

Saraswati Namasthubhayam Mantra

Meanwhile if you have a new born baby or are looking for Girl Child Name, perhaps Rudraksha-Ratna.Com - (Link Here) can come to rescue as the site lists all the 108 Names of Saraswati Goddess. This was earlier trend to name babies to ancient Hindu or Respective religion God or Goddesses, Prophets or Lords, these day we look for fancy tongue twister names with non meaning.

As Saraswati puja for 2020 has already commenced on 29th -30th January, hope these can be helpful to those who are on there own in 2021 or for Spiritual enlightenment and farther discourse. Thanx.

Pandavas The Hunters

Originally re-written by Keshav Srinivasan at the stack exchange. Source - https://hinduism.stackexchange.com/

Once on a time, as Yudhishthira lay down at night in the Dwaita woods, some deer, with accents choked in tears, presented themselves before him in his dreams. To them standing with joined hands, their bodies trembling all over that foremost of monarchs said, 'Tell me what ye wish to say. Who are ye? And what do ye desire?' Thus accosted by Kunti's son--the illustrious Pandava, those deer, the remnant of those that had been slaughtered, replied unto him, saying, 'We are, O Bharata, those deer that are still alive after them that had been slaughtered. We shall be exterminated totally. Therefore, do thou change thy residence. O mighty king, all thy brothers are heroes, conversant with weapons; they have thinned the ranks of the rangers of the forest. We few--the remnants,--O mighty-minded one, remain like seed. By thy favour, O king of kings, let us increase.' Seeing these deer, which remained like seed after the rest had been destroyed trembling and afflicted with fear, Yudhishthira the just was greatly affected with grief. And the king, intent on the welfare of all creatures, said unto them, 'So be it. I shall act as ye have said.' Awaking after such a vision, that excellent king, moved by pity towards the deer, thus spake unto his brothers assembled there, 'Those deer that are alive after them that have been slaughtered, accosted me at night, after I had awakened, saying, 'We remain like the cues of our lines. Blest be thou! Do thou have compassion on us.' And they have spoken truly. We ought to feel pity for the dwellers of the forest. We have been feeding on them for a year together and eight months.Let us, therefore, again (repair) to the romantic Kamyakas, that best of forests abounding in wild animals, situated at the head of the desert, near lake Trinavindu. And there let us pleasantly pass the rest of our time.'

The festival is of paramount importance to the...

The festival is of paramount importance to the Hindu, Jain and Buddhist communities of the country, which indulge in festivities as a means of paying respect to their respective gurus.

Here are 5 other things you should know about the festival.

1. According to the Hindu calendar, Guru Purnima generally falls on a full-moon day in the Hindu month of Ashadh (June to August).

2. Hindus dedicate Guru Purnima to Maharshi Veda Vyasa, the sage who is believed to be responsible for editing the sacred Hindu text, the Vedas and writing the 18 Puranas, Mahabharata and the Srimad Bhagavatam--all of which form the very foundation of the Hindu religion.

3. For Buddhists, the festival is an occasion to rejoice in the divinity of their guru, Lord Buddha, who is said to have delivered his first sermon at Sarnath, Uttar Pradesh, on this very day.

4. The festival is also believed to mark the onset of monsoons, and is thus a prime source of celebration for farmers.

5. The day of Guru Purnima is considered auspicious for those who are willing to give a start to a spiritual learning of any kind.
